< The Radio Programme >

This website and all of it's contents forms an original package to accompany and compliment the show, which runs from 5-6pm every Wednesday on 1350AM and the Internet during term time at the University of York.

the JUICE is a lively Wednesday show on URY 1350AM, created, presented and produced by myself, Adam Bell. Although it runs for only one hour once a week, it fills the gaps in good music that other music shows leave.

< The Presenter >

I try to make the programme a rounded and tight package for all of the student listeners at the University of York. URY's technicians have now made it possible to also enjoy all that the station has to offer via the webstreaming facility situated on the URY website.

The programme's theme music is a combination of both older and newer music, the kind of which you can typically expect to hear on any given edition of the JUICE. The way in which the show is presented is both in a definite structured manner, where the order of features is made clear from the beginning, and yet with a relaxed tone that I try to bring. This includes the use of humour and the stress is on the enjoyment of the listrner, which means that the music is the over-riding element of the show.

< Features of the Show >

Any music programme on any radio station bases itself on the structure of playing music as its main feature, but incorporating other features of less significance dotted around to allow for listener interaction and variation.

This programme has 4 main features (accessible from the Competitions and Features page) besides it's strong musical content.
These come in the form of:

< I.D.THREE >
where listeners have to guess 3 songs and artists that are edited together.

< HeadbacK > where we play 3 songs back-to-back from the past.

< 1DeSCRIPT > where listeners have to guess what it is that a recorded voice is describing.

< 2kwik2tel > where 22 seconds are counted down by an audible timer, allowing competition entries to be given either via the telephone or e-mail. This specially positioned slot also exists so that listeners miss less of the broadcast.
